How to Build an Alteernative Practice

Many doctors and nurses struggle to grow a practices. They depend on advertising or printing flyers and brochures whilst ignoring the most powerful tool which is right under their noses – other people!

Developing a health referral system is THE most important approach to build a practice and attract new patients and clients into your clinic.

Why do so few practitioners use referrals correctly?

Well firstly, they often don’t even realise that you have a “strategy” for getting referrals. They may well get referrals from happy customers, but that doesn’t mean that they must focus on getting more – they simply happen don’t they?

To your level that is correct, many referrals may happen with no prompting and merely just because a client or patient is happy using the service provided.

But have you thought to make it more convenient for people to do so? Simply using a notice with your clinic suggesting that referrals are welcome, is an easy method of getting people to consider suggesting that you other friends, loved ones or colleagues.

Or maybe a simple question to your clients who’ve finished a course of sessions together with you and seem happy with your service. Think about saying “well, i’m glad that you’ve got so much out of our lives together, and knowing anybody else who has an identical issue, it will be my pleasure to determine them”.

Getting referrals is all about you getting in contact with what feels authentic for you. You will have some methods that seem to “pushy” but alternative methods that appear perfect – it’s your responsibility to find one that suits your personality.

Apart from getting referrals from clients, one other way is to setup referral partners. These partners will often work inside the same “target market” while you. So if you are a chiropractor, having referral partners who will be doctors, surgeons or sports coaches may appear appropriate. An advanced hypnotherapist who works together with overweight people, perhaps you might forge ties with dieticians, nutritionists or fat loss groups.

Workout who does become your ideal referral partners, make a list and then go approach them. You may be surprised how effective this easy strategy can be.
